The specialist will contribute to sustainable development initiatives within the company's operations.

Role Overview

The Environmental Specialist will analyze environmental aspects of infrastructure projects and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This involves preparing necessary documentation for environmental permits, identifying potential impacts, and proposing mitigation measures. The role provides technical support to design teams and monitors legislative changes in environmental protection.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze environmental aspects associated with infrastructure projects under development.
• Participate in the preparation of documentation required for obtaining environmental permits, approvals, and authorizations.
• Prepare or contribute to the development of project presentation reports, technical documentation for environmental permitting procedures, specialized environmental studies, and environmental sections of technical design documentation.
• Identify potential environmental impacts and propose prevention, mitigation, or compensation measures.
• Participate in the assessment of technical solutions from an environmental protection perspective.
• Provide technical support to design teams regarding applicable environmental requirements.
• Participate in site visits and field surveys to collect information required for the preparation of environmental documentation.
• Cooperate with environmental experts, consultants, and competent authorities.
• Monitor compliance with the conditions established by permits, approvals, and other regulatory documents issued by competent authorities.
• Prepare documentation for submission to relevant authorities.
• Participate in meetings and technical sessions with clients and permitting authorities.
• Respond to requests for clarifications and additional information issued by authorities.
• Follow up on the status of environmental permits and approvals.
• Monitor legislative changes in the field of environmental protection.
• Inform management and project teams about applicable legal requirements and obligations.
• Propose compliance measures and internal process improvements.
• Prepare technical reports and activity updates related to assigned projects.
• Ensure the proper recording, filing, and archiving of environmental documentation.
• Provide information, data, and technical input required by management and clients.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental specialization, particularly with infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare comprehensive environmental documentation and reports.
• Proficiency in identifying environmental impacts and developing mitigation strategies.
• Strong understanding of environmental permitting procedures and regulatory compliance.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh. The role involves collaboration with internal design teams, external environmental experts, consultants, and government authorities. Site visits and field surveys are an integral part of the responsibilities.
