About the Role
alfanar is seeking an Export Sales Engineer I EXA Ceramics to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position is responsible for providing solution selling to prospective clients, executing strategic deals, and modeling financial business cases. The role involves matching customer requirements to proposed solutions in a timely manner, adhering to quality standards, company policies, and procedures, with the ultimate goal of achieving the plan and targets of the Project Sales department.
Sales and Client Relationship Management
- Build strong relationships with decision-makers in large contracting companies, as well as with designers, architects, contractors, and consultants.
- Establish effective relationships with specifiers and consultants to secure approvals for the company’s products.
- Develop a comprehensive project list covering all market sectors within the assigned territory.
- Engage with owners, consultants, main contractors, and sub-contractors to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Work with management to create and maintain lists of existing and potential customers, identifying those with the potential to exceed budget requirements.
- Promote and sell the company’s product portfolio.
- Cooperate with the sales manager to set annual sales goals, including product volume, value, and selling price, involving strategic planning and financial forecasting.
- Provide solutions to clients' technical queries and ensure satisfactory resolution of customer complaints.
- Provide customer statements and ensure timely payments.
Reporting and Operational Coordination
- Maintain accurate customer records and submit sales reports.
- Provide monthly project reports detailing project status and other activities affecting the business or company.
- Keep accurate records of customer interactions, transactions, and performance.
- Update information on the CRM system and C4C weekly.
- Handle the preparation of technical prequalification submittals.
- Liaise with store, logistics, and finance departments to ensure timely delivery of goods and smooth operations.
- Coordinate with the finance department to handle internal invoicing and ensure timely payment processing.
- Attend team meetings and actively contribute improvements, new ideas, and insights.
Professional Accountability and Compliance
- Maintain updated soft and technical skills related to the job and develop a clear vision for career path achievement.
- Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets as per delivery schedules, utilizing resources effectively within cost and time parameters.
- Provide periodic reports detailing deviations and execution of planned tasks.
- Solve related problems that arise and escalate complex operational issues when necessary.
- Ensure quality requirements are met, developing effective quality control and processes, including specifications for products or related activities.
- Contribute to business process improvements by coordinating well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seeking automation opportunities.
- Comply with all related company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within the defined area of work activity.
Required Experience
Candidates for this role should possess 2-5 years of experience in a relevant sales engineering capacity. A background in export sales, particularly within the ceramics or construction materials industry, is beneficial. Strong capabilities in solution selling, financial business case modeling, and project sales are essential.
