The project encompasses three open pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpile, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and extensive supporting infrastructure including water supply, power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, and both temporary and permanent accommodation villages.

Role Overview: Field Engineering Rigging

Bechtel is seeking a Field Engineering Rigging professional for a full-time position on the Ar Rjum Project in Saudi Arabia, specifically covering locations such as Taif and Riyadh. This role requires 5-10 years of experience and involves providing specialized rigging expertise in work planning, packaging, safety, quality control, technical inspection, testing, and subcontract coordination. The primary objective is to ensure that all rigging activities are executed safely, completed to specifications, and conform to established quality standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning, review, and execution of rigging and heavy haul activities to ensure safe and efficient work.
• Provide technical guidance to construction engineers, superintendents, and craft regarding rigging and heavy haul requirements.
• Prepare conceptual lift, heavy haul, and transport studies.
• Contribute technical input to the development of transport, heavy haul, rigging, and lift strategies, advising project supervision and field engineering personnel on crane and heavy transport needs.
• Assess contractor technical packages for lifting and abnormal transport requirements.
• Provide input and assist in the preparation of estimates.
• Prepare and review medium risk rigging and heavy haul plans, including lift data sheets and formal calculations.
• Prepare and review medium lift, heavy haul, and site transport plans submitted by contractors, or coordinate approval for critical lift, heavy haul, and transport studies with a Bechtel Certified Rigging Engineer (CRE).
• Monitor the application of standard work processes and procedures.
• Monitor compliance of rigging and heavy haul operations with approved plans and applicable codes.
• Collaborate with safety personnel on rigging and heavy haul-related safety procedures and requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive working knowledge of rigging planning and execution standards and requirements.
• Technical knowledge and experience in construction engineering, specifically in the use of lifting equipment, alternative heavy lifting systems, mobile gantries, jacking, tailing, rigging equipment, and load distribution systems.
• Understanding of transport/transfer of equipment, soil mechanics, and structural steel design.
• Thorough knowledge of construction activities related to engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract administration.
• Knowledge and understanding of environmental, safety, and health requirements on heavy-industrial construction projects, including the application of a Zero Accident Safety Philosophy.
• Knowledge in the administration and use of subcontracts, with the ability to interpret and understand contractor/subcontractor responsibilities.
• Broad knowledge of Construction Standard Work Process Procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Design Suite software programs, with experience in preparing reports and using 3D and 4D modeling software.

Work Environment and Essential Skills

• Ability to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs, which may involve extensive walking on construction sites, climbing ladders and scaffolding, using fall protection and PPE, walking on elevated and uneven surfaces, and maneuvering in confined spaces.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, a team-oriented approach, and a commitment to knowledge sharing.
• Adept at problem-solving through lateral thinking, with the ability to understand client and entity needs for technical compliance and training.
