Frontend Software Engineer

About the Role

Lucidya is seeking a Frontend Software Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Riyadh Province. This full-time position is open to Saudi nationals with 0-1 years of professional experience. The role focuses on building high-quality user experiences and utilizing modern engineering practices, including AI, to deliver software efficiently.

This position is suitable for an engineer with a solid foundation in frontend development who is looking to grow in an environment that values ownership, speed, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Impact is measured by the ability to understand problems, build maintainable solutions, collaborate effectively, and continuously improve work.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production-grade web applications using React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Create reusable, maintainable, and scalable frontend components.
• Translate product requirements and designs into intuitive and responsive user experiences.
• Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs and real-time communication services, including WebSockets / ***
• Manage server state efficiently using React Query / TanStack Query and complex client-side state using Redux / Redux Toolkit when appropriate.
• Contribute to improving frontend architecture, performance, code organization, and maintainability.
• Write reliable unit and integration tests using Jest, and build end-to-end tests using Playwright.
• Participate in code reviews, identify regressions, and debug issues systematically.
• Utilize AI coding tools for research, prototyping, implementation, debugging, testing, and refactoring solutions, while critically reviewing and validating AI-generated code.
• Take ownership of work from requirement understanding through implementation, testing, review, and production.
• Communicate clearly regarding requirements or technical risks and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• 0–2 years of professional frontend development experience.
• Strong understanding of JavaScript fundamentals and hands-on experience building applications with React.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and type-safe development.
• Good understanding of React fundamentals, including components, hooks, state management, rendering, and component lifecycle.
• Experience integrating frontend applications with APIs and handling asynchronous data.
• Familiarity with React Query / TanStack Query, Redux / Redux Toolkit, Jest, and Playwright.
• Familiarity with real-time frontend architectures using WebSockets / **** and basic understanding of message queues and event-driven systems (*, RabbitMQ).
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, responsive design, and browser fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Ability to debug problems and write clean, readable, and maintainable code.
• Practical experience using AI tools to improve software engineering productivity.
• Strong willingness to learn and continuously improve, coupled with good communication and teamwork skills.

Success Metrics

Within the initial months, the successful candidate is expected to understand the frontend codebase and development workflow, deliver production features with increasing independence, and write clean, maintainable code. This includes building automated tests, confidently working with REST APIs, understanding real-time architecture, and effectively debugging issues. The engineer will also use AI tools to improve development speed and productivity while maintaining engineering quality, participate meaningfully in technical discussions, and collaborate effectively with teams.
