The Role: Frontend Software Engineer

Lucidya is seeking a Frontend Software Engineer to join its team in Jeddah or Makkah. This full-time role is suitable for engineers with 0-1 years of professional experience who are passionate about building high-quality user experiences and learning modern engineering practices. The position emphasizes ownership, speed, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement in software delivery, including the use of AI as an engineering accelerator.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain production-grade web applications using React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Develop reusable, maintainable, and scalable frontend components.
• Translate product requirements and designs into clean, intuitive, and responsive user experiences.
• Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs and real-time communication services, including WebSockets/***
• Manage server state efficiently using React Query/TanStack Query and complex client-side state with Redux/Redux Toolkit when appropriate.
• Contribute to improving frontend architecture, performance, code organization, and maintainability.
• Write reliable unit and integration tests using Jest and build end-to-end tests using Playwright.
• Participate in code reviews, identify regressions, and debug issues systematically.
• Utilize AI coding tools for research, prototyping, implementation, debugging, testing, and refactoring solutions, while critically reviewing AI-generated code.
• Take ownership of work from requirements understanding through implementation, testing, review, and production.
• Collaborate with frontend, backend, QA engineers, product managers, and designers.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
• 0-2 years of professional frontend development experience.
• Strong understanding of JavaScript fundamentals and hands-on experience building applications with React.
• Good understanding of TypeScript, type-safe development, and React fundamentals (components, hooks, state management, rendering, lifecycle).
• Experience integrating frontend applications with APIs and handling asynchronous data.
• Familiarity with React Query/TanStack Query, Redux/Redux Toolkit, and frontend testing tools such as Jest and Playwright.
• Familiarity with real-time frontend architectures using WebSockets/** and basic understanding of message queues like RabbitMQ.
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, responsive design, and browser fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Ability to debug problems, write clean and maintainable code, and use AI tools to improve productivity.
• Strong willingness to learn, continuously improve, and demonstrate good communication and teamwork skills.

The frontend ecosystem includes React, JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, React Query/TanStack Query, Redux/Redux Toolkit, Jest, Playwright, WebSockets/**, RabbitMQ, REST APIs, Git, and modern AI-assisted development tools. Experience with every technology is not required, but strong fundamentals and the ability to learn quickly are essential.
