About the GIS Senior Project Coordinator Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a GIS Senior Project Coordinator to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves critical oversight and coordination of geospatial and navigation data projects, contributing to key initiatives within the RSAF Air Systems Directorate.

Role Purpose and Project Oversight

The GIS Senior Project Coordinator is responsible for the daily management, acquisition, upgrade, and development of project elements and sub-projects related to Geospatial and Navigation Data, Visual Data Base & Mission Planning Systems, and associated systems. A primary focus of this role is on project planning, defining requirements, and ensuring alignment with the overarching objectives and plans of the RSAF Air Systems Directorate. The coordinator will also provide essential support to RSAF officers on matters concerning the Directorate's cross-RSAF Simulators Visual Data Base & Mission Planning Systems and related systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day execution of aircraft development project elements and sub-projects.
• Develop and create Statements of Requirement (SoR) to define technical and operational needs.
• Draft and maintain Statements of Work (SoW) outlining project scope, deliverables, and responsibilities.
• Support project planning activities and ensure alignment with the Directorate’s overall strategy and objectives.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to validate requirements and ensure proper integration across all project phases.
• Monitor progress, risks, and resource allocation to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
• Participate in reviews, audits, and project reporting as part of the Air Systems Directorate’s oversight process.
• Lead and manage GIS, Navigation, Simulators Visual Data Base & Mission Planning, and air systems projects from initiation to closure, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Define project objectives, timelines, and resource plans aligned with operational and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, logistics, procurement, and air operations.
• Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure smooth execution.
• Ensure compliance with airworthiness standards and military or civil aviation regulations (*, GACA, FAA, MIL-STD).
• Track project performance metrics and prepare regular progress and risk reports.
• Oversee contractors and suppliers to ensure timely, quality-compliant deliverables.
• Maintain accurate and complete project documentation throughout the lifecycle.
• Promote continuous improvement by applying lessons learned from past projects.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying Engineering, Geographic Information System, Geomatics, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of professional experience in GIS, Navigation, Simulators Visual Data Base & Mission Planning, air systems, projects coordination, or related technical fields.

Essential Skills and Attributes

• Strong ability to assess and manage risks and opportunities related to RSAF Air Systems requirements.
• Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies; PMP or equivalent certification is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure and deliver results in high-paced environments.
• Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
• Strong initiative and problem-solving skills in technical and operational contexts.
