Head of Motor (Underwriting & Claims) at ACIG

Allied Cooperative Insurance Group (ACIG) is seeking a Head of Motor (Underwriting & Claims) to lead its Motor technical operations in Riyadh. This full-time position is central to strengthening underwriting and claims performance, while driving sustainable growth and profitability within the Motor portfolio.

Role Purpose and Scope

This role provides strategic and operational leadership across all Motor underwriting and claims activities. The Head of Motor will oversee critical functions including risk selection, pricing, portfolio management, claims performance, technical controls, and service delivery. The primary objective is to ensure sustainable profitability and strict compliance with ACIG policies and the regulatory requirements set by the Saudi Insurance Authority. Collaboration is key, involving close work with Sales, Actuarial, Reinsurance, Finance, Risk Management, and Operations to optimize the overall performance of the Motor portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee Motor underwriting and claims operations.
  • Develop and implement Motor underwriting and claims strategies aligned with company objectives and risk appetite.
  • Ensure appropriate risk selection, pricing, underwriting terms, and technical controls.
  • Monitor Motor portfolio performance, including premium growth, loss ratios, claims frequency, claims severity, and profitability.
  • Oversee Motor claims operations to ensure accurate, fair, and timely claims handling and settlement.
  • Identify adverse portfolio and claims trends and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Establish and maintain underwriting authorities, guidelines, claims controls, and operating procedures.
  • Work closely with Actuarial on pricing, portfolio analysis, reserving, and performance monitoring.
  • Collaborate with Sales and other distribution functions to support profitable Motor business growth.
  • Monitor significant and complex Motor risks and claims, providing appropriate technical direction.
  • Drive improvements in claims efficiency, cost control, customer experience, and operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable insurance standards.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Motor underwriting and claims teams.

Required Experience

Candidates should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in motor insurance underwriting and claims management.
