Head of Technology Delivery (Gateways) Unit

About the Role

Riyad Bank is seeking a Head of Technology Delivery (Gateways) Unit to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves transforming operational needs into effective applications and systems, ensuring precise implementation of modifications, configurations, and maintenance to support efficient business operations. The position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement approved departmental policies, processes, and procedures, providing guidance to subordinates and monitoring adherence.
• Manage day-to-day operations for the Solutions Delivery function, ensuring compliance with established standards.
• Provide input for departmental budget development and monitor performance against approved levels within the function.
• Act as a liaison between business areas and BT operations to understand and communicate business needs and future goals.
• Analyze business needs and propose application development or configuration of existing systems to enhance operational effectiveness.
• Stay informed on local and international banking system trends and best practices, proposing improvements for efficiency.
• Ensure business objectives and requirements are documented and understood by all parties for premium software solutions.
• Guide the design of required applications according to the Bank’s BT architecture and ensure alignment with business requests.
• Provide guidance for accurate system and application configuration, defining parameters and adjustments.
• Participate in application testing to confirm efficiency and accuracy before production release.
• Evaluate and select suitable external vendors for application development, considering cost and quality.
• Ensure timely and accurate resolution of system/application malfunctions reported by the Services Center.
• Monitor application efficiency, performing maintenance and configuration to support business objectives.
• Control documentation of new applications and changes according to processes for effective knowledge management.
• Follow up on the efficiency of developed or configured applications to ensure customer satisfaction and business support.
• Organize and supervise subordinate activities to ensure efficient and compliant work within Branch Support Operations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for systems, processes, and practices, focusing on best practices, cost reduction, and productivity.
• Prepare timely and accurate departmental reports meeting bank and department requirements.
• Represent the function in internal and external committees/meetings, ensuring timely resolution of relevant matters.
• Ensure staff have clear objectives, regular performance feedback, annual appraisals, and individual development plans, with emphasis on Saudi national staff development.
• Facilitate the employment, training, and development of Saudi nationals within the organization.
• Comply with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental management policies and procedures.
• Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Experience in application design, development, configuration, and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of banking operating systems and industry best practices.
• Proven leadership and team supervision skills.
