About the Role

Catrion Group is seeking a Jr. Sous Chef to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is essential for maintaining high standards of food preparation and production within healthcare operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff and ensuring operational efficiency and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook all food items according to agreed standards and specified quantities for healthcare operations.
• Ensure meal production aligns with company standards, client specifications, and the Healthcare Project's requirements, including correct temperature, quality, and portion size.
• Collaborate closely with all kitchen sections and related departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Supervise kitchen staff performance, assist as needed, and participate in daily production, taking responsibility for assigned sections.
• Oversee production to control food waste in line with business requirements.
• Assist in completing daily, weekly, and monthly HACCP records and other necessary documentation.
• Ensure harmonious workflow among kitchen staff for timely production.
• Suggest alternative raw materials when primary items are unavailable and inform relevant sections.
• Verify correct packing and dispensing procedures for meal delivery.
• Ensure all food items used meet purchase specifications and report any quality issues.
• Maintain personal and staff hygiene standards in accordance with company and statutory requirements.
• Ensure working areas are consistently clean.
• Manage and rotate stock to ensure food safety, minimize wastage, and achieve contract food costs.
• Assist the Sous Chef/Chef De Cuisine in adhering to catering budget requirements and efficient resource utilization.
• Report equipment defects or maintenance needs that could impact service delivery.
• Liaise with dieticians for food ordering and with the logistics team for deliveries.
• Attend required client and company training courses and actively participate in safety initiatives.
• Assist in preparing kitchen cleaning rosters and supervising cleaning schedules.
• Be prepared to work in various locations across KSA as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a relevant culinary role.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise kitchen staff and manage daily production.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, including HACCP.
• Ability to work cooperatively within a team and across departments.

Work Environment

This role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and is a full-time position within Catrion Group's healthcare operations. The position may require flexibility to work in various locations across KSA as operational demands dictate.
