About the Opportunity

Vrinda Global is seeking a Lead Design Engineer Primary & Secondary to join its engineering team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to the design and development of electrical systems for substation projects, requiring a professional with substantial experience in the field.

Role Overview

The Lead Design Engineer will specialize in either primary or secondary electrical design for High Voltage (HV) and Extra High Voltage (EHV) substation projects. This position involves leading design activities from conceptualization through to the review and approval of technical specifications and deliverables, ensuring adherence to design standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the primary or secondary electrical design for HV/EHV substation projects.
• Develop and review substation single-line diagrams, equipment layouts, schematics, and design drawings.
• Lead primary engineering activities covering AIS/GIS substations, transformers, switchgear, CTs, PTs/CVTs, isolators, circuit breakers, busbars, and earthing systems.
• Lead secondary engineering activities covering protection, control, metering, interlocking, AC/DC systems, relay panels, control panels, and SCADA interfaces.
• Review and approve technical specifications, calculations, equipment data sheets, and design deliverables.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5-10 years of strong and proven experience in Substation Designing is mandatory.
• Hands-on experience in both Primary or Secondary Substation Design.
• Demonstrated experience in HV/EHV Substations, preferably 132kV and above.

Required Technical Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of AIS/GIS Substation Design principles and practices.
• Comprehensive understanding of primary substation components and their integration.
• In-depth expertise in secondary substation systems, including protection, control, and SCADA interfaces.
