Malaa is seeking a Lead Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time, hands-on leadership position where you will be instrumental in shaping the technical direction of the systems you own. The role focuses on foundational financial platforms, contributing to innovation, resilience, and trust within the ecosystem.

Role Overview

As a Lead Engineer, you will lead other engineers and influence the approach to system development. While the role involves writing code, your primary impact will stem from strategic decisions, technical direction, and people leadership. You will be responsible for the technical ownership and architectural alignment of multiple solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction and architecture for a specific domain or major system.
• Act as the primary technical owner for multiple solutions developed by your team.
• Lead architectural decisions and ensure alignment across services and domains.
• Develop a deep understanding of the complete business workflow and system lifecycle.
• Establish and drive technical standards, best practices, and engineering quality.
• Mentor, coach, and develop senior and mid-level engineers.
• Elevate the standards for engineering excellence and delivery discipline.
• Lead technical planning, prioritization, and execution of strategic initiatives.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Leadership to translate business goals into technical strategy.
• Identify systemic risks early and address scalability, reliability, and security concerns.
• Improve developer experience and team effectiveness within the domain.

Experience Requirements

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in engineering roles, with a demonstrated background in technical leadership and architectural ownership.
