About the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Role

alfanar is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position is ideal for individuals with 0-1 years of experience looking to develop their skills in industrial equipment maintenance and reliability.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The primary objective of this role is to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of equipment through diligent maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities. This involves diagnosing mechanical issues, implementing preventative maintenance programs, and collaborating with technicians to extend equipment longevity and efficiency, thereby supporting the smooth operation of all machinery.

  • Assist senior engineers in performing preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, and heavy-duty structures.
  • Support the diagnosis of mechanical faults, such as bearing failures, hydraulic leaks, and gearbox issues, and implement effective solutions on various equipment, from fixed conveyor systems to mobile heavy machinery.
  • Contribute to projects focused on enhancing reliability and efficiency, including mechanical component upgrades, lubrication program improvements, and fabrication modifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and spare parts within the digital management system (CMMS).

Safety and Continuous Learning

Adherence to all company safety protocols, including Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures, is mandatory to foster a zero-harm culture. The role also involves active participation in training sessions covering mechanical systems, welding techniques, predictive maintenance methods like vibration analysis, and updated safety standards.

Foundational Knowledge and Aptitude

Candidates should possess a foundational understanding of core mechanical principles, including dynamics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics (hydraulics/pneumatics), and materials science. A practical, hands-on aptitude and a willingness to engage with tools and equipment on the shop floor are essential.
