Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

Taiba Consulting Company is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position focuses on supporting the design and development of building projects across Saudi Arabia. The role primarily involves mechanical design, documentation, and technical coordination, with some engineering supervision during the construction phase.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop complete mechanical drawing packages, including plans, sections, risers, schematics, and details for HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems across concept, schematic, and detailed design stages.
• Perform design calculations such as cooling loads, duct and pipe sizing, ventilation rates, and equipment selection.
• Design fire protection systems, including sprinklers, standpipes, fire pump rooms, and smoke control/stairwell pressurization, along with sprinkler hydraulic calculations.
• Produce Fire & Life Safety (FLS) drawing packages and calculation reports suitable for Saudi Civil Defence submission, ensuring compliance with applicable Saudi codes and project requirements.
• Coordinate with internal disciplines (architectural, structural, electrical, surveying) to ensure design integration.
• Assist in the preparation of technical documentation and drawings for tender submissions.
• Update designs based on internal reviews and client feedback.
• Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for conformity with the approved design.
• Conduct periodic site visits to verify that mechanical and FLS installations adhere to the design intent and report non-conformities.
• Witness testing and commissioning of mechanical and fire protection systems, and support Civil Defence inspections and handover processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• A strong background in Fire & Life Safety (FLS) is essential for this position.
• Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience.

This role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires close coordination with internal teams on building projects.
