MEP Manager Design

About the Role

ECEC East Consulting Engineering Company is seeking an experienced MEP Manager Design to lead and coordinate all mechanical and electrical engineering design activities. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and involves overseeing operations across both the Riyadh HQ and Cairo Offshore teams. The role focuses on delivering technically rigorous, code-compliant MEP design solutions across all project stages to ensure client satisfaction and adherence to professional engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct, review, and approve all Mechanical and Electrical design outputs across project stages (CD, SD, DD, IFT, IFC) to ensure quality and technical compliance.
• Enforce compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC), NFPA, BS/IEC, and other relevant standards.
• Lead and manage the MEP engineering team across Riyadh and Cairo, including performance appraisals, technical mentorship, and recruitment support.
• Monitor design schedules, resource loading, and milestone achievement to ensure on-time delivery of MEP design packages.
• Oversee multi-discipline design coordination with Architecture and other engineering disciplines, including BIM integration and clash resolution.
• Represent ECEC's MEP engineering capability in client meetings, design review presentations, and technical correspondence.
• Implement and enforce ECEC's QA/QC procedures, engineering standards, and design review processes for all MEP work.
• Contribute to MEP department growth planning, workforce forecasting, and the development of competency profiles for new roles.
• Evaluate and adopt emerging AI solutions to enhance MEP design delivery, coordination, technical reviews, and quality assurance.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in MEP design and management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and coordinate complex mechanical and electrical engineering design activities.
• Strong understanding and application of relevant building codes and standards (SBC, NFPA, BS/IEC).
• Experience in team leadership, performance management, and capability development across multiple locations.
• Proficiency in multi-discipline design coordination and BIM integration.
• Experience in client and stakeholder technical engagement.

Internal and External Stakeholders

The role requires regular interaction with all internal departments. Externally, the MEP Manager Design will engage with private-sector real estate developers, project owners in KSA, lead design consultants, Municipality, MOMRA, local statutory authorities, specialist sub-consultants, and equipment vendors/manufacturer representatives.

Work Environment

This role operates within a dynamic engineering consultancy environment, managing teams across Riyadh and Cairo. It requires a proactive approach to project delivery, quality assurance, and team development, aligning with ECEC's strategic business expansion objectives.
