About the Role
Marriott International is seeking a Mgr-Govt Relations to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves managing tasks related to employee visas and government documents, ensuring compliance with immigration and other relevant regulations. The role requires 2-5 years of experience in a related field.
Role Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to oversee the daily activities concerning Government Relations, including visa and license applications. The Manager will be responsible for maintaining open lines of communication with various government and municipal agencies to ensure smooth processing and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and ensure timely acquisition of various licenses for the hotel, its associates, and guests.
- Monitor the expiration dates of visas, occupational cards, and passports for all associates.
- Process visa applications for guests and employees, ensuring timely approvals.
- Maintain a weekly cost overview with detailed justifications for government relations activities.
- Coordinate associates' departures at the airport upon contract completion to facilitate visa cancellation.
- Assist the Sales Department by providing leads from local companies and government institutions.
- Provide support for all government-related matters as necessary.
- Collaborate with relevant government agencies to ensure proper document processing.
Legal and Compliance Practices
- Ensure all food handling cards for associates with direct guest contact are obtained, approved, and renewed on time.
- Maintain an organized passport and visa filing system within the office.
- Verify that the front office maintains a proper guest passport filing system.
- Ensure full compliance with regulations pertinent to Government Relations transactions and activities.
- Offer guidance to other departments to ensure employees possess all necessary documents.
- Confirm employee files contain required employment paperwork related to visas or licenses, ensuring proper maintenance and security for the stipulated duration.
- Ensure adherence to procedures for accessing, reviewing, and auditing employee files, and compliance with the Privacy Act.
- Communicate property rules and regulations through the employee handbook.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in government relations or a similar administrative role.
- Demonstrated understanding of immigration laws and government regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for document management.
- Ability to communicate effectively with government agencies and internal departments.
