About Ajnihat Alnajah Group of Companies

Ajnihat Alnajah Group of Companies is seeking a dedicated professional for the role of Planning Assessment & Cost Estimation Engineer (Civil & Mechanical). This position is critical for supporting the company's internal operations and strategic project evaluations.

Role Summary

The Planning Assessment & Cost Estimation Engineer serves as the primary analytical hub for the company’s internal operations. This full-time role, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is focused on providing the executive team with precise, unbiased internal evaluations of upcoming projects. The engineer will analyze Client Bill of Quantities (BOQs) to determine real-world costs, identify potential structural or mechanical risks, and develop a comprehensive internal execution playbook.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Assessment & Project Evaluation: Conduct deep-dive assessments of project blueprints across Civil (structural, earthworks, infrastructure) and Mechanical (HVAC, piping, fire-fighting, industrial equipment) sectors. Identify technical gaps, potential bottlenecks, and site-specific challenges before project commencement, and evaluate the feasibility of client-provided construction sequences against internal resource capabilities.
  • Internal Cost Estimation & Budgeting: Develop high-precision internal costing based on Client Bill of Quantities (BOQ). Analyze market rates for labor, raw materials (Steel, Concrete, Pipes), and specialized mechanical equipment. Calculate "True Cost" versus "Bid Price" to identify margin opportunities and cost-saving measures without compromising quality, and estimate the cost of consumables and logistical overheads.
  • Planning & Strategic Scheduling: Develop detailed internal work schedules (Gantt Charts) using Primavera P6 or MS Project. Define the critical path for both civil and mechanical phases to ensure seamless integration, such as correct mechanical sleeve casting within structural timelines. Plan resource allocation (manpower, machinery, and materials) to optimize productivity.
  • Internal Reporting & Executional Documentation: Prepare comprehensive project reports for management, highlighting risks, resource requirements, and financial exposure. Draft the internal executional plan, serving as the master manual for the site team, detailing daily project management. Establish internal KPIs and milestones to track project health and financial variance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in planning, assessment, and cost estimation, specifically within civil and mechanical engineering projects.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management software, including Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Strong analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of construction methodologies, market rates, and risk assessment principles.

Key Performance Metrics

  • Accuracy of internal estimated costs compared to actual project expenditures.
  • Clarity, quality, and depth of internal executional plans and risk assessments.
  • Success in scheduling and integrating overlapping civil and mechanical tasks to avoid rework and ensure project efficiency.

Location and Employment Type

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the internal analytical capabilities of Ajnihat Alnajah Group of Companies.
