Platform Engineer

About the Role

Datamatics Technologies is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time role focuses on supporting the installation, configuration, integration, and operationalization of an on-premises modern data platform. The successful candidate will manage infrastructure setup, platform administration, security integration, environment management, and ensure platform reliability across Development, QA, and Production environments.

Role Context and Focus

This position requires hands-on experience in deploying enterprise data platforms within highly secured environments. The role emphasizes strong troubleshooting, operational support, and infrastructure management capabilities to maintain platform stability and performance. Collaboration with infrastructure, security, and application teams is essential to ensure seamless operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and administer data platform components in an on-premises environment.
• Deploy and manage MinIO Object Storage and Apache Iceberg-based data lakehouse architecture.
• Install, configure, and optimize Starburst and/or Dremio platforms for data virtualization and querying.
• Deploy, administer, and support Apache Spark clusters and processing services.
• Install, configure, and manage Informatica components, ensuring seamless integration with the platform ecosystem.
• Configure and maintain Development, QA, and Production environments.
• Integrate platform components with enterprise security services, including Identity & Access Management (IAM), Privileged Access Management (PAM), Active Directory / LDAP, Single Sign-On (SSO), and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
• Implement and support Git-based DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• Manage monitoring, logging, backup, disaster recovery, and operational readiness processes.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure platform stability, availability, and performance.
• Troubleshoot deployment, configuration, integration, and connectivity issues across the platform stack.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in platform engineering or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience deploying enterprise data platforms in highly secured environments.
• Strong capabilities in troubleshooting, operational support, and infrastructure management.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, where you will work within a collaborative team environment, engaging with various technical departments to ensure robust platform operations.
