About the Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Principal Commercial Officer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves comprehensive commercial management, focusing on contract lifecycle, risk mitigation, and strategic financial support within assigned areas. The role is central to ensuring effective business agreements and commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce a full range of contract and subcontract documentation in line with BAE Systems Saudi Arabia requirements and procedures.
• Lead or actively participate in and support others in contract and subcontract negotiations with relevant parties.
• Support contract management and manage subcontracts, ensuring efficient resolution of issues.
• Support and implement pricing and payment strategies and policies in assigned areas.
• Support and implement overall financial targets and budgetary management strategies in assigned areas.
• Identify potential areas of risk and carry out risk analyses and assessments to support risk minimisation.
• Contribute to building, managing, and maintaining relationships with existing and potential customers for effective business agreement management.
• Actively support commercial issues to facilitate effective business decision-making and resolution of issues and disputes, including customer complaints.
• Monitor sub-contractors’ commercial activities, including terms and conditions and price negotiations, to maintain quality and cost.
• Lead, develop, and motivate any assigned staff to ensure they are aware of and capable of delivering their responsibilities.
• Contribute to the development of the Functional Governance Manual and the Commercial Manual and implement them in assigned standard areas.
• Keep up to date with and research new commercial developments in assigned areas and assist in assessing their advantage to the company.
• Liaise with internal and external customers as appropriate.
• Support interfaces with Finance, Legal, HR, and Group Tax to help establish effective contracting and pricing models.
• Support RBA activities.
• Perform tender analysis and administration.
• Produce Commercial plans in support of LCM.

Qualifications and Experience

• A relevant Degree or equivalent qualification.
• Approximately 6+ years of commercial or procurement experience.
• Accreditation by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or the International Association for Contracts and Commercial Management (IACCM), or an equivalent professional body.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Good knowledge of business unit financial, commercial, and procurement policies.
• A proven track record of contributing to the management of contractual issues.
• Thorough understanding and comprehension of Commercial Contracts & Law.
• Proven negotiating skills.
• Wide-ranging experience dealing with both domestic and international suppliers.
