We are seeking a Principal Specialist, BU Data Domain to join our team in Riyadh.

Role Purpose and Impact

The Principal Specialist, BU Data Domain serves as the accountable owner for a Business Unit's data domain. This role is critical in ensuring that data is trusted, governed, consistent, and aligned with both operational requirements and enterprise standards. The position enables accurate decision-making, meaningful performance measurement, and scalable analytics by establishing clear ownership of domain data, KPIs, and business definitions. It acts as a bridge between business operations and enterprise data capabilities, translating business needs into structured and reusable data assets, and drives enterprise alignment by representing the Business Unit in governance forums, influencing cross-domain standards, and integrating local business requirements into Ma’aden’s broader data and digital strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish clear ownership and accountability for domain data, business definitions, and performance metrics.
• Strengthen the quality, consistency, and fitness-for-purpose of domain data across business processes and systems, ensuring it accurately reflects operational realities, business requirements, and regulatory obligations.
• Enable the development of trusted and reusable data products that support operational excellence, analytics, and AI use cases, translating Business Unit requirements into scalable data solutions that deliver measurable business value.
• Drive the adoption of enterprise data governance standards while ensuring relevance to Business Unit needs, and align domain practices with enterprise architecture, data policies, and cross-domain governance requirements.
• Serve as the primary data representative for the Business Unit on strategic data matters, influencing business and technical stakeholders to achieve alignment on data priorities, standards, and outcomes.
• Improve data quality performance through proactive monitoring, issue resolution, and stewardship practices, leading initiatives that enhance data reliability, usability, and business confidence.
• Drive continuous improvement of domain governance, data management practices, and value realization.

Indicators of Success

• Domain data is trusted, accurate, and consistently used across reporting, analytics, and operational processes.
• Business definitions, KPIs, and data standards are clearly defined and adopted across stakeholders.
• Data quality issues are proactively managed and resolved with measurable improvement in data reliability.
• Domain data products support business objectives, analytics requirements, and AI initiatives.
• Business Unit priorities are effectively represented within enterprise governance and decision-making forums.
• Enterprise and Business Unit standards remain aligned without compromising operational requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience within a Business Unit domain, data management, analytics, or enterprise information management environments.
• Proven experience owning domain definitions, KPI frameworks, and data quality outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to work across business and technology functions to establish governance and data management practices.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment without direct authority.
