We are seeking a Principal Specialist, Engineering and ETL (OT) to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on a full-time basis.

Role Purpose

The Principal Specialist, Engineering and ETL (OT) provides enterprise leadership for Operational Technology (OT) data engineering. This role is crucial for enabling the reliable ingestion, transformation, and availability of operational data, supporting analytics, operations, and performance management. The specialist will define OT pipeline standards, ensuring data delivery with quality, lineage, security, and appropriate latency across various sites. Key responsibilities include defining scalable patterns for integrating historians and industrial systems into enterprise platforms, guiding teams through complex OT constraints, and ensuring the sustainability and governance of operational data products.

Key Responsibilities

• Define OT data engineering and ETL standards, patterns, and reference architectures, covering batch, streaming, and near-real-time ingestion requirements.
• Establish ingestion patterns for historians and OT source systems, including normalization, unit standardization, quality flags, and tag mapping processes.
• Design and ensure robust pipeline reliability, incorporating idempotency, backfill, late-arriving data handling, reconciliation, and alerting mechanisms appropriate for OT contexts.
• Ensure OT pipelines comply with security and segmentation requirements, partnering with OT cyber and platform security teams for governance-by-design.
• Oversee and guide OT data transformation logic to produce curated OT data products aligned with enterprise models and governance requirements.
• Provide architectural oversight for site onboarding, managing variability across plants, and ensuring consistent delivery standards across implementations.
• Review and assure vendor and internal deliverables, providing technical direction and quality gates for complex OT engineering initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement through performance tuning, cost optimization, observability, and operational resilience enhancements for OT workloads.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in data engineering, ETL, and Operational Technology (OT) systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in defining and implementing data engineering standards and architectures.
• Strong understanding of industrial systems, historians, and data integration patterns within OT environments.
• Experience with data governance, security, and quality assurance in complex data pipelines.
