About the Role

Star is seeking a Private Computer Science Teacher to provide part-time, one-to-one academic support to a student in Riyadh, Riyadh Province. This role involves delivering personalised Computer Science tuition aligned with the student’s curriculum, focusing on technical understanding, computational thinking, programming skills, and independent problem-solving. The position requires an educator with strong technical expertise, excellent teaching ability, professionalism, and adaptability within a private family environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality one-to-one Computer Science lessons.
• Support the student’s school curriculum and academic requirements.
• Teach programming, algorithms, computational thinking, data representation, computer systems, and networks.
• Assist with homework, coursework, projects, and examination preparation.
• Develop the student’s programming and practical problem-solving skills.
• Identify knowledge gaps and create targeted learning plans.
• Prepare exercises, projects, revision activities, and extension work.
• Monitor academic progress and adapt teaching strategies.
• Develop the student’s confidence, curiosity, and independent learning skills.
• Maintain accurate records of progress, attainment, and future objectives.
• Communicate professionally with the family regarding academic progress and priorities.
• Coordinate with the student’s school or other educators as required.
• Maintain a positive, structured, and encouraging learning environment.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Computer Science educator with 2-5 years of experience, possessing strong technical knowledge and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and practically. Applicants should demonstrate:

• Strong knowledge of Computer Science and programming.
• Experience teaching school-age students in Computer Science.
• Familiarity with the British curriculum, where applicable.
• Proficiency in teaching relevant programming languages such as Python or Java.
• Ability to combine theoretical concepts with practical application.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to tailor lessons to an individual student’s learning style and academic level.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
• Patience and the ability to build a productive one-to-one relationship with the student.
• Professional maturity, discretion, and sound judgement.
• Confidence to work independently within a private household.

Working Arrangements and Confidentiality

This is a part-time private teaching position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with a competitive salary commensurate with experience. Teaching will primarily occur around the student’s school commitments, with the schedule adapted to academic requirements and the family’s schedule. Occasional additional availability may be required during examination periods, holidays, or academic transition periods. Due to the private nature of the appointment, the Teacher must maintain complete confidentiality and discretion regarding the student, family, household, schedules, travel arrangements, and any other private information encountered.
