About the Role

Alomar Holding Company, a Saudi construction firm specializing in residential, commercial, and multi-storey building projects, is seeking an experienced QA/QC Engineer to join its Projects Department in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional dedicated to upholding the highest quality standards in construction execution.

Core Responsibilities

The QA/QC Engineer will be instrumental in ensuring all construction activities adhere to approved drawings, technical specifications, contract requirements, Saudi Building Code regulations, and Alomar Holding Company's quality standards. This involves overseeing site inspections, material approvals, testing protocols, managing non-conformances, generating quality reports, and fostering collaboration with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and internal project teams to minimize rework and enhance project delivery quality.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implementing the company's Quality Management System across assigned projects.
  • Developing, updating, and monitoring Project Quality Plans.
  • Preparing and reviewing Method Statements in conjunction with project and technical teams.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and implementing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contracts, and the Saudi Building Code.
  • Monitoring quality performance and submitting regular reports to the Project Department Manager.
  • Conducting daily site inspections and quality walkthroughs.
  • Verifying executed works against approved drawings, specifications, material submittals, and workmanship standards.
  • Raising, tracking, and following up on Inspection Requests.
  • Attending inspections with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Monitoring field and laboratory test results and ensuring material approvals prior to site use.
  • Inspecting structural, architectural, waterproofing, finishing, and MEP-related works.
  • Issuing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for non-compliant works or materials.
  • Following up on Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Coordinating with site and subcontractor teams for timely closure of observations.
  • Identifying recurring quality issues and recommending preventive measures.
  • Requesting rework or corrective action for works failing to meet requirements.
  • Preparing weekly and monthly quality reports and maintaining inspection records, quality logs, material approvals, test reports, and NCR registers.
  • Tracking inspection outcomes, consultant comments, and corrective action closures, and preparing quality KPI reports.
  • Coordinating with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Technical Office, consultants, clients, subcontractors, and approved laboratories.
  • Ensuring subcontractor compliance with quality procedures and project requirements.
  • Supporting project teams in resolving quality issues to prevent impact on cost, schedule, or handover.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of QA/QC experience in construction projects.
  • Proven experience with villas, residential compounds, multi-storey residential buildings, or similar projects.
  • Strong knowledge of the Saudi Building Code and relevant construction standards.
  • Practical experience in inspecting concrete, blockwork, waterproofing, finishing, and MEP works.
  • Experience interacting with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and testing laboratories.
  • ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification is preferred.
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification is an added advantage.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing ITPs and Method Statements.
  • Proficiency in NCR and CAPA management.
  • Knowledge of inspection procedures for structural, architectural, waterproofing, finishing, and MEP works.
  • Ability to review material submittals, test reports, and technical approvals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills for reporting and tracking.
  • Familiarity with material approval procedures, laboratory testing, and consultant inspection requirements.
  • Strong communication, coordination, reporting, documentation, and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Fluent Arabic and good English communication skills, including technical reporting.
  • Eligibility to work in Saudi Arabia.
  • Ability to conduct regular site inspections in an active construction environment.
  • Availability to join within 30 days or less.
