About the Role

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority is seeking a Regulatory Senior Advisor to join their team in Riyadh, Riyadh. This full-time position involves leading work activities autonomously, providing guidance, and acting as an internal consultant on complex Customs issues. The role focuses on setting and monitoring legal support ticketing system guidelines and requirements to ensure full functionality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead work activities and operate autonomously with minimal direction towards long-term objectives.
  • Act as an internal consultant and facilitator, providing guidance for operational activities.
  • Answer complex queries and advise stakeholders on intricate Customs issues.
  • Establish guidelines and requirements for the legal support ticketing system.
  • Monitor the implementation of the ticketing system to ensure all criteria are developed and functional.

Advisory Support and Planning

  • Develop legal support ticketing systems, including ticketing and knowledge management, and provide recommendations for efficient resolution of Customs regulations/laws queries.
  • Conduct Customs studies to continuously improve ZATCA's current Customs practices (policies and procedures).
  • Stay informed on the domestic and international Customs ecosystem, including key players, obligations, relationships, and regulatory instruments.

Implementation and Follow-Up

  • Address internal and external queries related to Customs laws and regulations, ensuring prompt and compliant responses, and escalate complex cases as needed.
  • Maintain and update Customs-related FAQ databases to enhance taxpayer experience and provide quick information.
  • Analyze common queries and themes to develop solutions based on taxpayer satisfaction trends.
  • Collect feedback from internal stakeholders on legal support operational efficiency and advising services, suggesting and implementing improvements.
  • Ensure achievement of legal support targets, report on performance, and highlight any delays.
  • Prepare final reports on advisory performance, challenges, and lessons learned, proposing improvements.
  • Participate in meetings/workshops with regulatory bodies and governmental entities to exchange advice on best Customs practices.

Organizational Operations and People Management

  • Adhere to all relevant policies, processes, and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in resolving escalated problems and support junior team members.
  • Escalate complex problems to ensure proper resolution.
  • Train junior staff on job activities to facilitate knowledge transfer.
  • Provide clear direction, prioritize tasks, delegate responsibility, and monitor the workflow of junior staff.
  • Support junior staff in executing duties according to established policies and processes.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience. Further qualifications will be discussed during the application process.
