The Role of Risk Manager

SNC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering is seeking a Risk Manager to join its project team in Riyadh, KSA. This is a full-time position requiring over 10 years of experience, specifically within the Rail/Metro sector. The Risk Manager will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and managing risk, issue, and opportunity processes across various projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor a comprehensive risk, issue, and opportunity management process.
• Create and maintain a risk matrix, identifying dependencies and potential impacts of schedule deviations.
• Identify, monitor, and manage project dependencies, and resolve related issues.
• Identify opportunities and coordinate necessary discussions and agreements to realize benefits.
• Monitor projects to ensure active and robust Risk Management processes are in place.
• Implement the Risk Management Plan, Risk Log, and associated governance processes.
• Track significant risks to ensure systematic identification, recording, evaluation, active management, regular re-evaluation, and communication across the program.
• Identify, communicate, and manage inter-program or external risks.
• Identify and manage internal program-related risks.
• Review and update the Risk Log against Program Status Reports and Meetings.
• Provide accurate and timely management information on the status of various projects.
• Monitor progress and drive delivery of individual projects, challenging and accelerating where appropriate.
• Enable the management of risks and opportunities at the program level.
• Drive commonality and coherence between various projects.
• Ensure interdependencies between projects are understood and managed.
• Ensure appropriate legal and commercial standards are set and adhered to.
• Ensure value for money for the client through negotiations with suppliers.
• Develop client capacity through the transfer of knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Implement best practice program, project, and other management and administrative processes.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 20 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience in Rail/Metro projects.
• Proven ability to develop and implement risk management processes.
• Strong understanding of project dependencies and their impacts.

Work Location

This role is based in Riyadh, KSA, as part of a dedicated project team.
