About the Role

Parsons Corporation is seeking a Roads Design Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves working within a Project Management Office (PMO) on major highways and infrastructure projects within Riyadh City.

Key Responsibilities

• Review road and highway design drawings, reports, and specifications from third-party designers at concept and detailed design stages, focusing on interfaces with structures, drainage, utilities, and traffic.
• Develop and evaluate conceptual design options for roads, junctions, and interchanges, including layout alternatives and high-level geometric solutions, to support PMO and client decision-making.
• Contribute to value engineering studies for highways and interchanges, identifying opportunities to optimize geometry, pavement solutions, and safety features while maintaining compliance with standards.
• Prepare engineering details, sketches, and exhibits to illustrate design concepts, value engineering proposals, and design clarifications.
• Review pavement design and road safety elements prepared by third parties, ensuring technical soundness and alignment with applicable standards and good practice.
• Review third-party design submissions, supplier drawings, and technical documents, and prepare clear, coordinated technical comments and responses for PMO and client approval.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (bridges/structures, drainage, utilities, traffic, and architectural/landscape) to resolve design issues and ensure integrated solutions.
• Prepare and deliver presentations on complex road and interchange design matters to internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
• Assist in assessing design risks, constructability aspects, and phasing considerations for major road and interchange schemes.
• Perform other responsibilities as appropriate to the position.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in roads design is required.
• Demonstrated experience in reviewing and evaluating road and highway designs.
• Proficiency in developing conceptual design options and contributing to value engineering studies.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within a Project Management Office focused on major infrastructure projects.
