About the Opportunity

National Medical Care Company (Care) is seeking a dedicated Safety Technician to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role is essential for maintaining a secure environment within the company's facilities, focusing on emergency preparedness and safety system integrity. Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in safety and emergency response.

Role Purpose and Impact

The primary purpose of the Safety Technician is to ensure robust emergency preparedness, particularly for fire disasters, across NMC Hospitals and Clinics. This involves familiarizing all staff with their roles and responsibilities during emergencies, thereby contributing to a safe operational environment that indirectly supports the delivery of superior quality medical treatment, compassion, and understanding to every patient.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor equipment in the Building Monitoring System Room, maintaining standby alert and informing relevant technicians of emergency calls.
• Conduct quarterly inspections of fire/smoke detection, protection, and warning systems.
• Inspect, test, and maintain fixed fire suppression systems and all firefighting tools/equipment to ensure full operational condition at all times.
• Maintain control valves for the sprinkler system, ensuring automatic alarms to facilities and proper maintenance of the main valve source.
• Perform daily inspections and necessary maintenance of fire extinguishers, including providing replacements for units removed for servicing.
• Install fire extinguishers in appropriate locations to ensure maximum travel distance does not exceed 75 feet in any work area and that they are easily accessible.
• Conduct monthly hydrant flushing.
• Ensure the operational readiness of fire exit signs and the emergency power system.
• Perform fire prevention inspections, identify deficiencies, and provide recommendations related to fire safety.
• Conduct fire and safety orientation sessions for newly hired hospital employees.
• Implement the Hospital "Code Red" Procedure as required.
• Respond to emergency calls pertaining to Fire/Safety at all times when required.
• Maintain written, dated, and authenticated records of all inspections and maintenance programs.
• Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of the employee’s knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in a safety technician role or a related field.
