About the Role

TestCrew | Quality Engineering & Software Testing is seeking a Senior API Platform Engineer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires strong experience in API gateway platforms, API lifecycle management, security, and cloud-native technologies. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on expertise with various API management tools and robust troubleshooting capabilities.

Role Overview

The Senior API Platform Engineer will be responsible for the comprehensive management of API platforms, ensuring their design, implementation, and administration meet high standards of performance and security. This role involves working with advanced API gateway technologies and collaborating with multiple teams to deliver reliable API services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and administer API Gateway platforms including Apigee, Apache APISIX, and WSO2.
• Manage the complete API lifecycle, covering API design, deployment, versioning, monitoring, and retirement.
• Troubleshoot API gateway, connectivity, performance, and integration issues.
• Implement and manage API security using OAuth , OIDC, mTLS, certificates, and authentication/authorization mechanisms.
• Configure and maintain SSL/TLS certificates, keystores, truststores, and certificate rotation.
• Deploy and manage API gateway components in Linux and Kubernetes environments.
• Integrate API platforms with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Monitor API performance, availability, traffic, errors, and security using API monitoring and observability tools.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable and secure API services.
• Establish best practices for API governance, security, performance, and operational support.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in API gateway platforms and related technologies.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Apigee, Apache APISIX, and WSO2.
• Demonstrated strong troubleshooting and platform administration capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies.
• Knowledge of API observability and monitoring platforms.
• Relevant certifications in API Management, Cloud, Kubernetes, or DevOps are considered a plus.
