Job Description

About the Role

DXC Technology is seeking a Senior Application Support Engineer (Integration & Middleware) to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is critical for maintaining the health and reliability of the enterprise middleware layer, ensuring robust and secure data flows across systems.

Role Overview

The Integration Support Engineer manages complex data flows between systems, ensuring that Spring Boot services and IBM CP4I componentsโ€”including MQ, ACE, and APICโ€”are performant, secure, and highly available. The core technology stack for this role includes IBM CP4I (ACE, MQ, API Connect), Spring Boot, and Red Hat OpenShift.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform End-to-End Traceability of transaction flows from the API Gateway (API Connect) through the Enterprise Service Bus (ACE) to backend Microservices (Spring Boot).
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for middleware failures, addressing issues such as message losses in MQ, synchronization errors in ACE, or JVM crashes in Spring Boot.
  • Oversee Platform Governance for integration components running on Red Hat OpenShift, ensuring optimal resource (CPU/Memory) allocation and pod scaling.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Security Protocols, including Mutual TLS (mTLS), OAuth2, and JWE/JWS within the integration layer.

Technical Responsibilities

This role involves detailed technical responsibilities across key platforms:

  • IBM Cloud Pak for Integration (CP4I):
    • Troubleshoot App Connect Enterprise (ACE) message flows, ESQL logic errors, and adapter connectivity issues (SAP, Database, File).
    • Manage IBM MQ queue managers, resolve channel retries, and investigate dead-letter queues or message persistence issues.
    • Resolve issues related to API Connect definitions, security policies, and Gateway (DataPower) latency.
  • Backend Microservices (Spring Boot):
    • Perform Performance Tuning by analyzing JVM thread dumps and heap dumps to resolve memory leaks or high CPU utilization.
    • Debug Connectivity Issues with databases (JPA/Hibernate) and external messaging systems (JMS/Kafka).
    • Utilize Log Aggregation tools such as ELK/Splunk to correlate logs across multiple microservices and identify points of failure.

Performance Indicators

Success in this role will be measured by key performance indicators, including:

  • Integration Uptime: Achieving *** availability for critical middleware components.
  • L2 Resolution Rate: Maximizing the number of integration issues resolved without escalation to L3 Engineering.
  • Mean Time To Resolution (MTTR): Reducing the time taken to identify and fix failures in the message delivery pipeline.

Experience and Qualifications

Candidates for this full-time position should possess 5 to 10 years of experience in application support, with a strong focus on integration and middleware technologies. A proven track record in troubleshooting complex enterprise environments is required.
