About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh is seeking a Senior Cardiovascular Technologist, Invasive. This full-time role involves acting in a senior capacity, assisting other technologists with sophisticated procedures, and supporting the manager in planning and coordinating cardiac catheterization activities. The successful candidate will perform all duties associated with an invasive cardiovascular technologist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Observe and monitor catheterization procedures for normal/abnormal patterns, evaluating results and informing the cardiologist of any ECG or pressure changes.
  • Perform preliminary analysis and hemodynamic interpretation for the cardiologist's study and diagnosis, ensuring all findings are recorded in the patient's medical record/system database.
  • Execute all catheterization procedures under the cardiologist's direction, including scrub duties and correct positioning of radiographic equipment.
  • Analyze and assess temporary and permanent pacemaker leads and program pacemaker devices.
  • Receive and complete work assignments from the department manager in a timely manner, and delegate assignments to technical staff.
  • Assist the manager with daily operational activities, problem-solving, and coordination with physicians/floors regarding patient preparation and transportation.
  • Ensure the availability of proper equipment and supplies before cath procedures and report any shortages or equipment repair needs to the manager.
  • Determine training needs for cardiovascular technologist staff and assist in the training, education, supervision, and performance evaluation of students, fellows, and new staff members.
  • Ensure clinical equipment is safe and functional, perform routine maintenance, and inform the manager of safety hazards or repair/maintenance needs.
  • Assist with emergency resuscitation measures.
  • Contribute to research projects, program development, data collection, and departmental quality control and improvement programs.
  • Take responsibility for one of the sections (Paediatric, Adult, or Electrophysiology) as needed, including staff training and competency checks for that section.
  • Comply with section policies, procedures, and protocols, and establish a continuous quality improvement program in accordance with CBAHI, JCI, SFDA, and other accreditation standards.
  • Adhere to radiation safety rules and regulations of the hospital, KACST, * CARE, and other national or international regulatory bodies, applying the ALARA principle for all procedures involving radiation exposure.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Four (4) years of experience as a Senior Cardiovascular Technologist Invasive, Ultrasound at KFSHRC, or equivalent Grade 09 related experience.
  • An average annual performance appraisal of at least for the last four (4) years.
  • One hundred (100) cumulative continued medical education (CME) hours.

Work Environment

This role is based in Riyadh and operates within a hospital setting, requiring adherence to strict clinical and safety protocols. The position involves working closely with cardiologists, technical staff, and other healthcare professionals.
