Senior Datastage Solution Architect

About the Role

Theron Solutions is seeking a Senior Datastage Solution Architect for a contract position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role requires extensive experience in IBM Data Integration technologies and a proven track record in architecting large-scale data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead as a Principal Architect on large-scale, full-lifecycle enterprise data warehouse or data lake implementations.
• Design and implement solutions using the IBM Data Integration suite, including DataStage, QualityStage, Information Analyzer, and Information Governance Catalog.
• Develop and optimize Parallel Jobs, including combining, sorting, partitioning, and collection methods.
• Create custom routines using Parallel routines/BuildOps.
• Integrate DataStage with various data environments such as Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, Hadoop/Hive, and cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, AWS Redshift, and Azure Synapse.
• Develop and optimize Unix/Linux shell scripts and SQL/PL-SQL.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in data integration and solution architecture.
• 12–14+ years of deep expertise across the complete IBM Data Integration suite, including IBM DataStage ( / Cloud Pak for Data), QualityStage, Information Analyzer, Information Governance Catalog (IGC), and IBM Db2.
• Proven experience acting as a Lead or Principal Architect on at least 2–3 large-scale, full-lifecycle enterprise data warehouse or data lake implementations.
• Expert-level knowledge of Parallel Job mechanics (combining, sorting, partitioning, collection methods) and custom routine development (Parallel routines/BuildOps).
• Strong expertise interfacing DataStage with diverse environments such as Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, Hadoop/Hive, and modern Cloud Data Warehouses (*, Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse).
• High proficiency in Unix/Linux shell scripting, grid scheduling tools (Control-M, Tivoli, or Autosys), and SQL/PL-SQL optimization.
