Zeal Solutions is seeking a Senior Director of Operations for a contract position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This senior-level role is critical for driving operational excellence within the driving school sector, leveraging expertise in procurement and project management.

The Senior Director of Operations Role

The Senior Director of Operations will serve as a subject matter expert in driving school operations, encompassing test management and/or training. This position requires a strong understanding of the KSA driving school landscape, established connections with local vendors, and the ability to quickly mobilize contacts. The role also involves significant responsibilities in governance and board representation for project companies and corporates.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate sound commercial and financial understanding, with a background in negotiating and executing commercial contracts.
• Lead decision-making processes from the Sponsors’ perspective on both commercial and technical matters.
• Manage and lead procurement workstreams in Saudi Arabia, including manpower hiring and IT installation.
• Oversee the management and coordination of driving school testing and monitoring activities.
• Monitor the phased implementation plan, assess performance against targets, identify gaps, and implement proactive measures to ensure adherence.
• Drive operational standardization across all Driving Schools to ensure uniform service quality and compliance.
• Coordinate daily operations across regional operations, managing workforce expansion from inception to approximately 800 operational staff.
• Oversee operational budgets and enforce cost control measures.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must possess over 10 years of experience in relevant fields. This includes demonstrated expertise in driving school operations, procurement, and project management. A comprehensive understanding of the KSA driving school environment and strong connections with local vendors are essential for success in this role.

Strategic Leadership and Governance

The Senior Director of Operations will represent the Sponsors in high-level meetings with governmental bodies, including Ministries, the Traffic Department, and other regulatory authorities. A key responsibility involves establishing robust governance structures during the implementation period, which includes forming steering committees, defining workstreams, developing decision-making protocols, and outlining clear escalation paths.
