Senior Field Technical Engineer

About the Role

Abbott is seeking a Senior Field Technical Engineer to join the Electrophysiology division. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires 5-10 years of experience. The role involves advancing the treatment of heart disease through medical technologies in atrial fibrillation.

Clinical Support Responsibilities

• Provide case support within the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab.
• Offer clinical support on devices and equipment to customers and prospective customers, addressing inquiries and delivering high-level service.
• Deliver educational and training support, including on-site clinical training for physicians and medical personnel.
• Represent the company as a professional resource in support of client and Abbott objectives.
• Demonstrate, set up, test, and service company products for diagnosing, monitoring, managing, and treating arrhythmias.

Sales Support Responsibilities

• Manage the EP business within a specific region.
• Continuously monitor regional targets per account for revenues and financial metrics related to the managed business line.
• Track inventory and manage logistical tasks.
• Align activities with the company vision to translate strategies into action.
• Execute new product launches, provide education, and facilitate team certification.
• Supervise full-time employees (FTEs) and follow up on assigned work.
• Support sales and marketing personnel in setting up and demonstrating company products, including developing and presenting sales proposals.
• Provide technical support to customers and prospective customers by responding to inquiries and offering timely resources or personal expertise.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with physicians and EP Lab personnel.

Accountability and Scope

This role involves cultivating internal networks and developing external resources to facilitate task completion. The Senior Field Technical Engineer may lead well-defined projects and provide guidance to less experienced staff. Influence is primarily exerted at the peer level and occasionally at the first levels of management. The position requires planning, organizing, and prioritizing daily work to meet established schedules. Decisions are made within defined limits, and failure to achieve results or erroneous recommendations may cause delays and necessitate additional resource allocation.
