About the Role

BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Geospatial Database Administrator to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and offers a competitive salary. BAE Systems operates as the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor, providing equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia, specifically focusing on the maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and training personnel for both the RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force.

Role Purpose and Context

The Senior Geospatial Database Administrator is responsible for the comprehensive maintenance and management of geospatial databases, ensuring data integrity and security. The primary objective of this role is to oversee data identification, acquisition, management, and ongoing maintenance to guarantee the accurate, consistent, and efficient collection, analysis, and dissemination of geospatial data. The individual will work autonomously, planning and organizing team activities effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver training programs focused on geospatial tools and technologies.
• Ensure users possess the necessary knowledge and skills for effective and efficient operation of geospatial tools and technologies.
• Collaborate with other geospatial specialists to create training materials.
• Apply analytical and creative skills to design optimal training programs.
• Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness to ensure high-quality learning outcomes.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of geospatial training platforms and tools.
• Provide support to the GDMS team, and prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training documentation, and reports related to assigned duties.
• Lead the team as directed by the Line Manager to accomplish its tasks.
• Proactively plan and organize activities across multiple areas, communicating effectively with all RSAF Directorates, Depots, Operating Bases, and Contractors.
• Develop a thorough understanding of customer requirements and priorities, making informed decisions based on this understanding.
• Manage financial aspects for the RSAF fleet, which comprises various aircraft variants in multiple configurations across dispersed locations, under strict funding constraints.

Qualifications and Experience

• Master’s degree in Geospatial Information or a related field.
• Possession of ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise Administration Professional Certification, ESRI Enterprise Geodata Management Professional Certification, or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in geospatial database management or administration roles.
• Experience working with GIS server software, preferably ESRI ArcGIS and Open Source solutions.
• Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Line.
