Egis is seeking a Senior Materials Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to our metro infrastructure projects, focusing on ensuring the highest standards in material selection, testing, and quality assurance.
Role Overview
The Senior Materials Engineer will apply technical expertise to oversee all aspects of materials, ensuring compliance with stringent specifications and performance standards. This role is critical for driving efficiency and innovation across our operations within the context of significant infrastructure development.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and select appropriate materials for metro infrastructure projects, considering performance requirements, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability factors.
- Conduct comprehensive material testing and analysis using laboratory equipment and industry-standard methodologies to verify compliance with specifications.
- Develop and implement material specifications, testing protocols, and quality control procedures aligned with international standards and project requirements.
- Collaborate with design, construction, and procurement teams to resolve material-related challenges and optimize material performance.
- Analyze material failure modes and conduct root cause investigations to implement corrective actions and prevent future issues.
- Manage relationships with material suppliers and vendors, ensuring consistent quality and timely delivery of materials.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and recommendations for project stakeholders and management.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality assurance protocols.
- Mentor junior engineers and support team development initiatives to build organizational capability.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material processes and project outcomes.
Required Experience and Attributes
Candidates for this role should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in materials engineering, preferably within large-scale infrastructure projects. The position requires a detail-oriented and analytical approach to material selection, testing, and quality assurance.
