About the Senior Media Specialist Role

The Arab Urban Development Institute, located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a Senior Media Specialist to join its Media and Corporate Communications Department. This full-time role is central to enhancing the Institute's local and regional presence and corporate image. The specialist will achieve this by developing and implementing corporate communications and media strategies, managing content, media relations, and internal/external communications, ensuring consistent corporate messaging, and supporting the Institute's strategic objectives. Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the media and corporate communications strategy, aligning with the Institute's overall objectives.
  • Prepare the annual media and communications plan and monitor its implementation in coordination with relevant departments.
  • Develop and implement corporate communications plans and campaigns targeting internal and external audiences.
  • Prepare media and corporate messages and content to ensure consistency in corporate discourse and enhance the Institute's image.
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage of the Institute, preparing reports, insights, and recommendations.
  • Prepare media responses, statements, and clarifications in line with approved directives, and monitor their publication.
  • Build and manage relationships with local and regional media outlets, coordinating coverage of the Institute's activities.
  • Prepare and edit news, press releases, reports, and media materials related to the Institute's programs and achievements.
  • Manage internal communication and content for employees, including announcements, event coverage, onboarding, and recognition ceremonies.
  • Develop and manage the Institute's media and digital content across its website and social media platforms, tailoring content to each audience.
  • Plan and oversee digital and media campaigns, measure performance, analyze results, and propose improvements.
  • Monitor and grow the Institute's digital presence, improving reach and engagement with corporate content.
  • Analyze media coverage and audience interactions on digital platforms, preparing periodic performance reports.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure consistency of messages, information, and media content.
  • Prepare executive communication materials, including official letters, speeches, and media memos as needed.
  • Support corporate reputation management and handle media and communication issues according to approved policies.
  • Oversee the archiving and documentation of media materials, news, and communication outputs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5-10 years of experience in media and corporate communications.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate communication practices, media relations, and reputation management.
  • Proven experience in preparing and executing media and communication plans and campaigns.
  • Knowledge of digital content management, social media platforms, and content management systems.

Essential Skills

  • Advanced ability in writing, editing, and drafting media and corporate content in Arabic.
  • Ability to analyze media coverage and engagement data, and measure the impact of communication activities.
  • Advanced skills in stakeholder management and coordination with departments, external entities, and the media.
  • Strong skills in preparing reports, presentations, and communication materials.
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities within a fast-paced work environment.
  • Advanced skills in communication, teamwork, and coordination among teams.
