About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh is seeking a Senior Medical Technologist to lead and perform specialized functions within a laboratory subsection/unit. This full-time position involves overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring the timely completion of work.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize workflow and daily operations of the subsection, ensuring prompt completion and reporting of all tasks.
• Assign staff to maximize efficiency and productivity within the subsection.
• Disseminate relevant information to subordinates and maintain the computerized Laboratory Information Systems for the subsection.
• Ensure optimal levels of supplies are available for uninterrupted services and manage an ordering and supply inventory system.
• Assist in the development of new methodologies and the evaluation of new equipment.
• Update policy and procedure manuals in accordance with specified guidelines.
• Perform analyses, tests, and procedures according to established laboratory standards, maintaining quality control.
• Participate in the Quality Assurance programs of the section, investigate incident reports, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain equipment repair logs and records of operation, maintenance, and repair for the subsection.
• Assist the section supervisor with ongoing employee performance appraisals and counsel subordinates to improve performance.
• Orient, train, provide continuing education, and guide lower-graded personnel, other laboratory and healthcare staff, students, and residents.
• Assist the section supervisor in evaluating potential employment candidates.
• Implement and maintain appropriate laboratory safety procedures and practices.
• Perform technical duties as assigned, including coverage for weekends, night shifts, and on-call rotations.
• Comply with section policies, procedures, and protocols, and adhere to the section's quality improvement program in accordance with CBAHI, JCI, CAP, SFDA, and other accreditation agency standards.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 2 years of relevant experience to effectively perform the duties of a Senior Medical Technologist. The role requires a strong understanding of laboratory operations and quality standards.

Work Environment

This role is based at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh. The position is full-time and requires flexibility to cover various shifts, including weekends, nights, and on-call duties, to ensure continuous laboratory services.
