Senior Oracle Database Administrator

About the Role

DXC Technology is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator to manage mission-critical databases. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires 8-10 years of experience. The role involves managing databases across both on-premises and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments, covering the full database lifecycle from installation and patching to performance tuning, high availability, disaster recovery, security, and automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and manage Oracle Database 19c, 21c, and 23ai on Oracle Linux, RHEL, Solaris, or AIX.
• Administer Oracle RAC, RAC One Node, and Oracle Grid Infrastructure components.
• Manage ASM disk groups, rebalancing, and storage allocation.
• Plan and execute database release updates and patches using OPatch and opatchauto.
• Manage Oracle Multitenant environments, including CDB/PDB provisioning and resource management.
• Provision and administer OCI DB Systems, Exadata Cloud Service (ExaCS), and Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC).
• Manage Oracle Autonomous Database, including scaling, cloning, and workload management.
• Utilize OCI Database Management, Operations Insights, and Performance Hub for monitoring.
• Automate database provisioning and lifecycle tasks using Terraform and OCI CLI.
• Configure database connectivity using OCI networking services.
• Manage backups to OCI Object Storage and configure automatic backup policies.
• Administer databases supporting Oracle E-Business Suite, Siebel CRM, and Oracle BRM.
• Support databases and integrations connected to Oracle Fusion Cloud.
• Implement and maintain Oracle Data Guard, including physical and logical standby databases.
• Design and test switchover and failover procedures for various environments.
• Manage RMAN backup and recovery across disk, tape, OCI Object Storage, and Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance.
• Investigate and resolve performance issues using AWR, ASH, ADDM, SQL Tuning Advisor, and SQL Plan Management.
• Tune SQL, execution plans, and optimizer statistics for application workloads.
• Implement Transparent Data Encryption, Oracle Key Vault integration, and network encryption.
• Configure Oracle Database Vault, Privilege Analysis, and Unified Auditing.
• Develop Bash, Python, and PL/SQL scripts for automation.
• Administer Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c Cloud Control.
• Participate in on-call support, incident management, and root cause analysis.

Required Experience and Skills

• 8-10 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
• Proficiency in managing complex Oracle database environments.
• Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite, Siebel CRM, and Oracle BRM database support.
• Ability to automate routine administration tasks.
• Strong understanding of high availability and disaster recovery solutions (Oracle Data Guard, RMAN).
• Skills in performance tuning and optimization using Oracle diagnostic tools.
• Knowledge of Oracle security features and compliance.
• Experience with scripting (Bash, Python, PL/SQL) and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) database services.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on DBA capable of taking ownership of complex Oracle database environments. This role requires the ability to resolve performance, availability, and recovery issues effectively. The successful candidate will be comfortable supporting Oracle application workloads, automating routine administration, and collaborating closely with application and infrastructure teams.
