About the Role
Parsons Corporation is seeking a Senior Planner to join its team in Riyadh, Riyadh. This full-time position is for a professional with 5-10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling. The role involves developing, maintaining, and analyzing detailed project schedules for complex infrastructure and airport projects, ensuring alignment with project requirements and execution strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed Level 3 / Level 4 project schedules, including Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), activity coding, calendars, logic, and methodology.
- Establish baseline schedules aligned with approved project scope and execution strategies.
- Integrate Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and Handover activities into the overall project schedule.
- Review contractor and subcontractor schedules for alignment with the approved master schedule.
- Analyze schedule logic, sequencing, constraints, interfaces, and critical path activities.
- Update project schedules based on actual progress, approved changes, and forecast activities, verifying reported progress against physical site progress.
- Analyze schedule performance, identify deviations, and develop recovery schedules and mitigation plans for delayed activities.
- Monitor schedule interfaces, track key project milestones, contractual milestones, access dates, approvals, and handover requirements.
- Coordinate with Procurement teams to track material and equipment delivery dates and assess their impact.
- Integrate design deliverables, submissions, reviews, approvals, and design release dates into project schedules.
- Prepare weekly and monthly schedule updates, progress reports, S-curves, progress curves, histograms, and dashboards.
- Perform schedule variance analysis, conduct Time Impact Analysis (TIA), delay analysis, and support Extension of Time (EOT) assessments and claims.
- Maintain schedule risk registers, participate in risk workshops, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure planning and scheduling activities comply with project procedures and contractual requirements.
Specialized Airport & Infrastructure Planning
- Develop and monitor schedules for airport terminals, airfield infrastructure, runways, taxiways, aprons, roads, utilities, and external works.
- Coordinate complex interfaces between airside and landside construction activities.
- Integrate airport operational constraints, access restrictions, permits, shutdowns, and phased construction requirements into the schedule.
- Monitor interfaces between infrastructure, utilities, buildings, MEP systems, and aviation systems.
- Track design and authority approvals impacting airport and airfield construction.
- Monitor commissioning, testing, integrated testing, and operational readiness activities.
- Integrate handover, documentation, training, and Taking-Over requirements into the project schedule.
Progress Control and Reporting
- Establish robust progress measurement and reporting systems, including activity-level progress rules.
- Track planned versus actual progress, identify performance trends, and monitor manpower, equipment, and productivity rates.
- Prepare progress dashboards and management reports, analyzing productivity trends and recommending corrective actions.
- Support forecasting of project completion dates based on current performance, ensuring schedule updates are supported by accurate progress evidence.
- Provide comprehensive reporting on planned vs. actual progress, critical path, milestone status, schedule variance, lookahead activities, and progress across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Prepare detailed schedule narratives explaining major variances and corrective actions, and present planning performance to project management and senior leadership.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure or airport projects.
