About the Role

اسس | OSUS is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to developing and implementing comprehensive plans and timelines for engineering and construction projects. The Senior Planning Engineer will be responsible for analyzing project requirements, estimating resources, and monitoring progress to ensure successful project implementation according to specified specifications, working closely with engineering, construction, and management teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project plans and schedules based on project requirements, objectives, and scope.
  • Utilize project management tools and software to create detailed work breakdown structures (WBS) and activity sequences.
  • Allocate resources, estimate durations, and establish milestones to ensure project progress aligns with the overall schedule.
  • Review and assess contractors’ schedules to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
  • Monitor resource allocation and reallocate as necessary to meet changing project needs.
  • Conduct critical path analysis to identify the sequence of activities that directly impact project duration and optimize it to meet deadlines.

Project Monitoring and Control

  • Analyze delays and their contractual impacts, developing methods to address and mitigate these delays.
  • Monitor project costs against budgets, identify cost variances, and propose corrective actions to maintain financial objectives.
  • Work closely with the project cost control team to integrate cost estimates and forecasts into the overall project plan.
  • Analyze and estimate potential risks in the project and develop strategies to deal with them.
  • Study the impact of variation orders on the project schedule.

Collaboration and Reporting

  • Coordinate with different project teams and departments to ensure seamless integration of work processes and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to integrate procurement activities into the project schedule, aligning with delivery timelines and budget constraints.
  • Conduct regular meetings to discuss project progress, address concerns, and facilitate problem-solving and decision-making processes.
  • Establish benchmarks and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project progress and performance.
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports that include an analysis of the status of projects.
  • Propose and implement improvements in planning and implementation processes to increase efficiency.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the line manager within the scope of work.

Experience Requirements

Candidates for the Senior Planning Engineer position are required to have 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in developing and implementing plans and timelines for engineering and construction projects.
