Senior Python Developer

About the Role

CODE Ltd is seeking a Senior Python Developer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position focuses on building and maintaining our voice and telephony platform. The successful candidate will work on core systems that power call handling, voice processing, and real-time telephony features, developing backend code that is fast, reliable, and production-grade.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Python services and backend components for the voice/telephony platform.
• Work with real-time audio/voice data streams and telephony protocols.
• Integrate Python systems with telephony infrastructure, including SIP, RTP, or similar VoIP protocols.
• Optimize the performance and reliability of systems handling live call traffic.
• Collaborate with the Asterisk/telephony engineering team to ensure smooth system integration.
• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code, and participate in code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues within a voice/telephony environment.
• Contribute to architecture decisions as the platform scales.

Required Skills and Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience with Python.
• Experience with backend/API frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Familiarity with telephony/VoIP concepts (SIP, RTP, call routing) or a demonstrated strong interest in acquiring this domain knowledge quickly.
• Experience with real-time or event-driven systems.
• Solid understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and system design principles.
• Proficiency in working with Linux environments.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, particularly in production systems.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively on-site with the team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with Asterisk or similar telephony platforms.
• Experience with audio processing or streaming technologies.
• Familiarity with message queues such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Redis.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.

Work Environment

This role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires on-site collaboration with the engineering team. The environment is focused on developing robust, high-performance systems for critical voice and telephony applications.
