Key Responsibilities

• Participate in architectural decision-making for a platform serving millions of users.
• Actively contribute to the migration of monolithic applications into microservices.
• Design, improve, and secure the overall backend architecture to support substantial user and product growth.
• Work with Docker containers, Kubernetes manifests, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.
• Coach and mentor other team members as a senior contributor within the team and Backend Chapter.
• Apply Design Driven Development, SOLID Principles, Event-driven Architecture, Algorithms, and automated tests (unit, integration, functional).
• Understand the development lifecycle and collaborate with cross-functional and agile teams.
• Contribute to continuous efforts in test coverage, refactoring, and documentation.
• Demonstrate proficiency in code review, debugging, and investigation.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development.
• Strong database expertise with PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases, including understanding of normal forms, ACID principles, isolation levels, indexing, query optimization, and memory caching.
• Deep understanding of software architecture, including Domain-Driven Design (DDD), microservices, Kubernetes, and containerization.
• Experience with monolithic migration projects.
• Strong testing mindset with experience in writing unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.

Technical Expertise

• Proficiency in programming languages such as GoLang, Ruby on Rails (RoR), Java, or Python.
• Experience with memory caching technologies like Redis or Memcached.
• Proficiency in monitoring, alerting, and logging tools, specifically Grafana.
