Sapphire is a joint venture located in the Special Integrated Logistics Zone (SILZ) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The company focuses on the manufacturing of industrial robots to support the next generation of automation, smart manufacturing, and advanced industrial capabilities within the Kingdom.

About the Role

Sapphire is seeking a Senior Specialist Accountant to join its finance team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves executing, reviewing, and analyzing accounting and financial activities in accordance with approved policies and procedures. The Senior Specialist Accountant will also provide technical guidance to junior team members and ensure accuracy and compliance across all financial processes within the Finance & Accounting function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and constructive feedback to junior accountants.
  • Organize and support team activities within the accounting function to ensure efficient and consistent work.
  • Prepare annual budgets, quarterly management accounts, and ad-hoc reports for business planning and decision-making.
  • Monitor and report financial performance against budget at the Business Unit level, identifying areas for corrective action.
  • Participate in the preparation and maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring accurate reflection of transactions.
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations, analyze monthly movements, and follow up on outstanding items.
  • Manage and maintain the fixed asset ledger, including classification, depreciation schedules, and write-offs.
  • Verify, process, and control invoices, cash calls, disbursements, and advance payments.
  • Prepare aging reports, track collections, and communicate status to the operations team.
  • Prepare daily cash position and monitor bank balances to ensure adequate fund availability.
  • Produce year-end financial statements and supporting documents in line with accounting policies.
  • Prepare VC valuations, loan provisioning, and other workings to support financial statement recording.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Tax and Zakat regulations and provide technical support on accounting transactions.
  • Provide inputs for and implement accounting policies, systems, and procedures for the assigned section.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute, review, and analyze accounting and financial activities.
  • Proficiency in preparing financial statements, budgets, and various financial reports.
  • Strong understanding of accounting procedures, regulatory requirements, and international accounting standards.
  • Experience with general ledger management, account reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting.
  • Familiarity with tax and Zakat regulations.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within Sapphire's Finance & Accounting function. The role involves working collaboratively within a team and providing guidance to junior members.
