Senior Structural Engineer

About the Role

WSP is seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves leading and overseeing structural design, analysis, and construction supervision for complex infrastructure projects, with a focus on ensuring the integrity, safety, and performance of built structures. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of experience in structural engineering, specifically with a proven track record in site supervision within the construction consultancy sector on roads and highways projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis of transportation infrastructure projects, including bridges, tunnels, viaducts, and retaining walls, adhering to client requirements, international standards, and industry best practices.
• Conduct structural assessments, load calculations, and finite element analyses to evaluate structural performance, durability, and resilience under various loading conditions.
• Provide technical oversight and guidance during the construction phase, including regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with engineering specifications and contractual requirements.
• Implement rigorous quality assurance and control measures to ensure construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved designs and standards.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering and innovation to optimize structural designs, enhance construction methodologies, and achieve cost savings without compromising structural integrity or performance.
• Collaborate with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to explore alternative design solutions and implement best practices in structural engineering.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate structural risks associated with construction activities, material selection, and environmental factors, implementing proactive measures to ensure the safety and resilience of built structures.
• Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, standards, and best practices, promoting a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
• Engage with clients, stakeholders, regulatory authorities, and communities to understand their needs, concerns, and expectations related to structural engineering projects.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, providing regular updates, progress reports, and technical presentations.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 15 years of experience in structural engineering.
• Proven track record in site supervision within the construction consultancy sector.
• Experience specifically on roads and highways projects.
• Strong understanding of international standards and industry best practices in structural engineering.

Work Environment

This role is based in Riyadh and operates on a full-time basis, focusing on significant infrastructure developments within the region.
