About the Role

Hmolat is seeking a Shipping Operations Officer to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves managing international shipping operations and requires 5-10 years of experience. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating logistics and ensuring smooth freight movements.

Core Responsibilities

The Shipping Operations Officer will be responsible for a range of critical tasks to facilitate international trade. This includes managing the entire lifecycle of shipments, from initial client requests to final delivery and documentation.

  • Receiving and meticulously recording pricing requests, including shipment details, client information, ports of origin and destination, quotation specifics, and client feedback.
  • Preparing accurate quotations for direct clients, the sales team, and international agents, ensuring the review of optimal options before final price approval.
  • Executing sea or air freight bookings and coordinating all loading arrangements in strict accordance with client requirements and shipment types.
  • Providing diligent follow-up on export shipments from the booking stage through to sailing, which includes coordinating with transporters, submitting VGM data, preparing shipping instructions, and reviewing bills of lading.
  • Managing follow-up on import shipments in collaboration with shipping lines or origin agents, and reviewing all necessary shipping documents until arrival and completion of required procedures.
  • Reviewing invoices and operational documents, and submitting daily reports on the status of requests and shipments to the direct manager.

Required Qualifications

Candidates for this role must possess practical experience and a solid understanding of international freight operations. A proven ability to manage complex logistics and communicate effectively is essential.

  • Demonstrated practical experience in international freight operations.
  • Preferable knowledge of both import and export procedures.
  • Good knowledge of dealing with shipping lines, international agents, and customs brokers.
