About the Role

UNIMAC - United Maintenance and Contracting Company is seeking a Site Engineer specializing in Asphalt Operations for a full-time position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is central to planning, coordinating, supervising, and executing aggregate base and asphalt paving activities. The Site Engineer ensures all pavement works meet required quality standards, specifications, and schedules, while maintaining safe practices and optimizing resource utilization. Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Operational Planning and Execution

• Plan, organize, and supervise daily aggregate base course and asphalt paving operations in line with the approved construction program.
• Verify site readiness before paving, including subgrade preparation, survey setting-out, levels, priming, tack coat application, and surface acceptance.
• Coordinate with the asphalt plant, logistics, and construction teams to ensure continuous material supply and uninterrupted paving.
• Monitor and control paving activities, including paving temperatures, screed settings, layer thickness, joints, rolling patterns, and compaction.
• Supervise aggregate base laying activities, ensuring compliance with moisture content, grading, density, compaction, and dimensional tolerances.

Quality Assurance and Resource Management

• Ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, project specifications, method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and quality standards.
• Coordinate with Survey, QA/QC, and laboratory personnel for inspections, field testing, and verification of line, level, thickness, and compaction.
• Identify quality deviations and implement immediate corrective actions, reporting significant non-conformities to the Pavement Manager.
• Maintain accurate testing and inspection records for client and consultant review.
• Supervise and manage site personnel, subcontractors, equipment, and material utilization to maximize productivity and operational efficiency.
• Coordinate daily work activities to achieve production targets while minimizing delays and material wastage.
• Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance requirements to prevent operational interruptions.

Progress Monitoring and Reporting

• Maintain accurate daily site records, including executed quantities, asphalt tonnage, manpower, equipment utilization, weather conditions, delays, and site activities.
• Prepare progress reports and provide quantity measurements and supporting documentation for interim payment applications and project invoicing.
• Assist in monitoring project progress against the construction schedule and recommend recovery measures as needed.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with project Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements and company safety policies.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks and promote safe working practices among all site personnel.
• Ensure all paving operations are carried out safely, with risks identified and mitigated before work commences.

Stakeholder Coordination and Communication

• Attend coordination meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
• Implement client and consultant instructions while ensuring compliance with contractual and technical requirements.
• Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of site activities.
