About the Role:
A Plant Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of machinery and equipment within a plant. This position involves performing regular maintenance, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and executing repairs to minimize downtime, ensuring a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct preventive maintenance on plant equipment to avert unexpected breakdowns.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Ensure the proper operation of machinery through preventive maintenance.
• Adhere to all safety standards and regulations, including LIMS guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.

Key Accountabilities:

• Perform repairs and maintenance on machinery, equipment, and utilities.
• Conduct routine maintenance as scheduled and generate maintenance activity reports.
• Work with the maintenance team and participate in cost control and continuous improvement activities.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety policies in all work activities.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of a diploma in Electrical & Electronics with a good working knowledge of sheet metal fabrication machinery. A minimum of 5-7 years' experience in a maintenance role, preferably within the Gulf region and in the sheet metal manufacturing industry, is required.

Behavioural Competencies:
Teamwork, communication, and self-motivation are critical. Active coordination with team members and superiors is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Maintenance and Repairs:
  • Conduct regular inspections of laboratory and facility equipment to identify maintenance issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and general systems.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in laboratory and facility equipment.
  • Replace faulty components, including wiring, motors, switches, and mechanical parts.
• Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards.
  • Maintain proper documentation for safety checks and repairs.
  • Implement safety protocols during maintenance work.
• Operational Support:
  • Provide immediate support during equipment breakdowns.
  • Collaborate with the Laboratory Manager to prioritize urgent repairs.
  • Maintain an inventory of essential tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
• Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify improvements to enhance the reliability of equipment.
  • Stay updated on latest advancements in maintenance techniques.

Qualification Requirements:

• Diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and facility systems.

Experience and Skills Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in an industrial or laboratory setting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
