Sr. Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

About the Opportunity

Alfanar Projects is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time role is central to ensuring the reliability, availability, and safe operation of mechanical production equipment. The successful candidate will drive effective preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives, all while minimizing downtime and optimizing maintenance costs.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment breakdowns, providing technical support during critical incidents to minimize downtime.
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans, inspections, and checklists, monitoring equipment condition to identify potential failures.
• Analyze recurring failures and implement effective corrective and preventive actions, maintaining accurate maintenance and equipment records.
• Identify critical spare parts to ensure equipment availability, evaluating and coordinating procurement with suppliers, and supporting alternative supplier identification for improved availability and cost reduction.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules to minimize operational disruptions and prioritize tasks based on equipment criticality and production needs.
• Coordinate specialized maintenance activities with external contractors and service providers.
• Perform maintenance activities in strict accordance with safety procedures and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
• Ensure all maintenance work meets established quality, safety, and regulatory standards, and maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment.

Technical Expertise and Analysis

• Read and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams accurately.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical systems, including rotating equipment, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, valves, and conveyors.
• Conduct thorough root-cause analysis for equipment failures and recommend effective corrective actions.
• Support equipment modifications and initiatives aimed at improving overall reliability.

Operational Excellence and Reporting

• Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets according to delivery schedules.
• Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time parameters.
• Provide periodic reports detailing deviations and execution of planned tasks.
• Solve related problems as they arise and escalate complex operational issues when necessary.
• Ensure quality requirements are met to develop effective quality control and processes, including specifications for products or related activities.
• Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, and procedures, actively seeking automation opportunities.

Compliance and Health, Safety, and Environment

• Comply with all relevant company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Ensure adherence to relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within the defined area of work activity.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance.
• Demonstrated ability to acquire updated soft and technical skills pertinent to the role.
