About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) in Riyadh is seeking a STEM CELLS THERAPY TECHNOLOGIST to contribute to its Clinical Laboratory operations. This full-time position is crucial for obtaining accurate data essential for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, with a particular focus on specialized stem cell therapy procedures. The role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Role Purpose

The STEM CELLS THERAPY TECHNOLOGIST is responsible for executing a diverse range of chemical, microscopic, immunological, and bacteriological procedures within the Clinical Laboratory. This role is fundamental in generating precise data essential for the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases, with a particular focus on the specialized requirements of stem cell therapy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize daily work in alignment with subsection/section schedules and patterns.
  • Assist in the appropriate dissemination of information across shifts, inter-sectionally, and within the department.
  • Perform product processing, including sampling, cell count, and dose calculation, adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Prepare all necessary documentation for cell dose and calculation.
  • Conduct accurate minor/major manipulations for assigned product types, meeting or exceeding productivity standards.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records for all infused, stored, and shipped HPC products.
  • Perform and learn the principles of Autologous Bone Marrow, Autologous Peripheral Blood Stem Cell, Buffy Coat Separation, and Cryopreservation.
  • Perform and learn the principles of Allogenic Bone Marrow, Allogenic Peripheral Blood Stem Cell, Buffy Coat Separation, and Cryopreservation.
  • Evaluate new methodologies and equipment.
  • Assist in the revision of policy and procedure manuals according to specified guidelines.
  • Obtain and process laboratory specimens.
  • Perform analyses, tests, and procedures, maintaining records as per Hospital established Medical Laboratory standards.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain the department's Quality Control programs.
  • Provide ongoing response and feedback to the Hospital employee performance appraisal system.
  • Train, provide continuing education, and guide students and other healthcare personnel, including Residents.
  • Ensure optimum levels of supplies are available for uninterrupted services.
  • Assist in ordering supplies and maintaining the supply inventory system.
  • Operate within the cost-effective practices of the section.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
  • Registration as an AABB Certified Advanced Biotherapies Professional (CABP) credential, or an equivalent license from the country of origin.
  • An average annual performance appraisal of at least for the last four (4) years.
  • Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education (CME).

This full-time role is situated within the Clinical Laboratory of King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) in Riyadh. The technologist will operate in a dynamic medical environment, contributing to critical diagnostic and treatment processes.
