The Role

SYSTRA is seeking a Structural Engineer to join its Project Management Consultant (PMC) team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on major transportation infrastructure projects, specifically metro stations. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in station projects, including rail, metro, or airport developments, and will be responsible for reviewing, coordinating, and monitoring structural design and execution activities throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and review structural engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements, design standards, safety expectations, and construction objectives.
• Review structural design submissions, calculations, drawings, and technical reports for adherence to project requirements and applicable standards.
• Monitor and coordinate structural engineering activities across design, construction, and interface stages.
• Support the PMC team in ensuring structural works align with project scope, quality standards, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinate with architectural, civil, MEP, and interface teams to resolve structural design and site-related issues.
• Review contractor and consultant submissions, including shop drawings, method statements, and material approvals for structural works.
• Participate in technical meetings, design review workshops, and coordination sessions with project stakeholders.
• Identify structural risks, design conflicts, and constructability concerns, and support their timely resolution.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance of structural works.
• Support the review of RFIs, NCRs, technical queries, and change requests related to structural elements.
• Prepare technical comments, progress updates, and reports for internal and client-facing PMC documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience as a Structural Engineer within a Project Management Consultant (PMC) environment.
• Over 10 years of experience in structural engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in stations projects, including rail, metro, or airport developments.
• Strong understanding of structural design, construction, and interface management.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams, consultants, and contractors.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within a PMC team focused on major transportation infrastructure projects. The role requires close coordination with various project stakeholders and occasional site visits.
