About the Role

Tandem Interim is seeking a highly experienced Subject Matter Expert in Real Estate & Hospitality Investment Banking for a part-time, recurring on-site engagement in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves supporting a long-term advisory engagement for a leading Sovereign Wealth Fund, focusing on strategic initiatives for large-scale real estate and hospitality developments. The position is equivalent to a senior VP-level or Associate Director role within a boutique investment bank context, requiring a practitioner who can serve as a trusted thought leader.

Responsibilities

• Advise a leading Sovereign Wealth Fund on capital raising strategies, capital structures, and funding models.
• Provide insights on methods for raising capital, including debt or equity options.
• Develop optimal capital structures tailored to client needs.
• Identify and recommend appropriate funding models.
• Engage and interface directly with investors.
• Act as a recognized thought leader in the specialist area, both internally and externally.
• Manage client relationships, collaborating with project teams and contributing subject matter expertise to on-site engagements.
• Build long-term relationships with clients, fostering trust and satisfaction with advisory work.

Required Experience and Expertise

• Over 10 years of significant investment banking experience, specifically within the real estate and hospitality sectors.
• Proven track record in structuring joint venture (JV) transactions for land development, involving government/sovereign counterparties and major hospitality operators.
• Deep expertise in capital raising, capital structuring, and joint venture development.
• Strong understanding of general corporate finance.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and financial analysis, including credit and/or valuation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of debt and equity advisory, equity and debt financing markets, and related products, structures, and investor bases.

Industry Focus

• Specialization within Real Estate, ideally including experience structuring joint venture deals for land development with government entities and large-scale hotel/hospitality companies.
• Generalist coverage across multiple sectors, with a focus on Real Estate and Infrastructure considered advantageous.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating at a VP/Associate Director level and possess the ability to operate as a trusted thought leader. Availability for a part-time, recurring on-site commitment in Riyadh is required.
